Train passengers in the Potteries are being warned of 'major disruption' - in what represents the second signalling problem in the county today. StokeonTrentLive reported this morning how a 'fault with the signalling system' in Stoke-on-Trent had seen trains cancelled or delayed.
During that incident and National Rail had reported all lines were blocked at Stoke Station. Now a 'major fault with the signalling system' is bring reported in the 'Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent area'.
That has again led to lines in the area being closed off. Passengers are being warned of 'major disruption' until the end of the day.
Trains on the following routes may be cancelled, delayed by up to 90 minutes or revised:
Stafford and Crewe
Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent / Manchester Piccadilly
