Marcelo Bielsa has hit back at his critics following Uruguay's shock 5-1 defeat to the USA.

The two-time World Cup winners were thrashed by next summer's co-hosts in their friendly meeting on Tuesday.

Bielsa has since come under mounting pressure to resign from his role as Uruguay boss.

However, the former Leeds United manager has reiterated his intention to be in charge for the World Cup.

He made his stance clear during a surprise press conference in the Uruguayan capital on Thursday.
