Upon the news of Evansville Public Library demolishing the current Red Bank location, some have wondered what’s going to happen to the “Heidi” stained glass window in the children’s area?

According to EVPL’s Chief Operating Officer, Heather Kelsey, they’re still deciding what will happen with it, but have no plans to destroy it.

EVPL Red Bank was built on the site of a home erected in 1850 by Henry Tiemann, grandfather of then-library board member Jane Heneisen and her twin sister, Luise.

The sisters donated the stained glass window in memory of their mother.
