With BJP becoming the largest party in the assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was forced to give up the home portfolio that he held for 20 years.
Home ministry will now be handled by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary (BJP). However, Nitish has kept the portfolios of cabinet secretariat, vigilance and general administration. He will also handle departments that are not allotted to other ministers.
