THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress is in a life-and-death battle in the local body elections. The fact that three former MLAs have made candidates reveals the Congress's intentions. Former Wadakkanchery MLA Anil Akkara will contest in Adat Grama Panchayat in Thrissur, former Aruvikkara MLA K.S. Sabarinathan in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, and former Udumbanchola MLA E.M. Augusthy will contest in Kattappana Municipality in Idukki. Anil Akkara has previously held the post of President of Adat Grama Panchayat. The Congress had previously contested and won former minister and MLA for the Koyilandy constituency, MT Padma, in Kozhikode Corporation and made her the Leader of the Opposition in the Corporation.
The leadership is keen to activate the Congress from the grassroots level. Giving more
