For sure, there were gatherings all around our fair community as thousands of eco-minded folks descended upon the many green spaces that dot our idyllic part of the city for the Annual Love Your Park Cleanup Day.

Not to slight any of the efforts put forth in these beloved pockets of nature that adorn our aesthetic neck of the woods, but in terms of sheer numbers, the grand daddy (or mommy, if you will) of them all was unquestionably Gorgas Park.

Obviously the overall size of the park would tend to tip the scales in its favor, but also the scores of families and environmentally-conscious individuals who volunteered their services was, in a word, overwhelming.
