Synopsis: Two contract workers at Cochin Shipyard’s Malpe unit in Karnataka have been arrested for allegedly leaking confidential shipbuilding and naval equipment information to Pakistan. The men, identified as Rohit and Santri from Uttar Pradesh, had reportedly been sharing classified material for financial gain for more than one year, including during an earlier stint in Kerala.
Karnataka police have arrested two workers of Cochin Shipyard’s Malpe unit in Udupi on charges of espionage for allegedly leaking confidential shipbuilding and naval equipment data to Pakistan.
The accused, identified as Rohit and Santri from Uttar Pradesh, were working on a contract basis through Sushma Marine Private Limited. According to the police, the two had been transmitting sensitive information for
