Cuttack: Preparations for the first T20 International between India and South Africa at Barabati Stadium here on December 9 are well underway.

On Friday, an eight-member technical team from IIT-Bhubaneswar visited the stadium to assess the condition of the galleries and other infrastructure. ADVERTISEMENT

With a capacity crowd of around 45,000 expected for the highly-anticipated contest, the focus is on spectator safety for the high-profile international fixture.

The team of experts from IIT examined several critical areas of the stadium, including spectator galleries, corporate boxes, VVIP enclosure and the main pavilion.
