Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart remains in the concussion protocol and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions in Detroit, interim head coach Mike Kafka announced before Friday's practice.
Veteran Jameis Winston will start his second consecutive game. Russell Wilson will be the backup.
Making his Giants debut last week, Winston completed 19 of 29 passes for 201 yards and an interception by Evan Williams on third-and-six from the Packers 14-yard line with 36 seconds remaining in the game. Winston was looking for Jalin Hyatt in the end zone while the Packers held a seven-point lead. On the next possession, Winston was strip-sacked by Micah Parsons as time expired on a desperation play to close out a 27-20 loss. Winston also had three carries for 10 yards and a touchdown.
