ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The Rawlings Gold Glove is now on top of Westport Plaza.

The 35,000-pound baseball glove was put on top of the Maryland Heights building on Wednesday. The glove was settled onto a heavy-duty steel structure at the top of the Gold Tower.

One of the world’s largest cranes was brought to the site to bring the glove to its final spot.

The idea to bring the glove to the top of the building was two years in the making.

Maryland Heights city leaders said the addition of the Rawlings World Headquarters and Rawlings Experience has been a perfect fit for Westport Plaza.

Maryland Heights Mayor Mike Moeller said a new restaurant will be coming to Westport Plaza next year, and he hopes for more growth in the future.
