The Quebec Liberals were set to huddle at party headquarters in Montreal on Friday after the party’s ex-parliamentary leader doubled down on her decision to fire her chief of staff.
In a legal letter read on air by Cogeco journalist Louis Lacroix, former parliamentary leader Marwah Rizqy’s lawyers defended their client’s decision to remove Geneviève Hinse from her position as chief of staff.
Hinse had been fired for “significant ethical breaches,” asserted the letter sent to Hinse’s lawyers.
It was in response to an earlier letter from Hinse’s lawyers , which had given Rizqy 24 hours to publicly admit to the “absence of a justified motive” for Hinse’s firing. The letter threatened Hinse could sue Rizqy if she failed to comply.
