It’s been nearly four years since Hope Muir took over as the artistic director of the National Ballet of Canada, and as the dance season gets underway it’s clear to see how her vision is setting the stage for the company.
The 2025-26 season features contemporary and traditional productions with award-winning Canadian and international choreographers, such as Crystal Pite, Jera Wolfe and Wayne McGregor. The six ballets include the world premiere of Procession (which will go on tour to Ottawa), Pinocchio and MaddAddam (inspired by Margaret Atwood’s trilogy).
“It’s super exciting,” Muir says, noting it’s great to see the company of 76 dancers grow and evolve.
