Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim hopes to keep hold of his players involved in the Africa Cup of Nations ( AFCON ) until two weeks before the start of the tournament.

Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui are all expected to be called up by their respective countries for AFCON, which starts on December 21 in Morocco and runs until January 18.

According to FIFA regulations, players called up for an international tournament must be released by their clubs and start to travel no later than the Monday morning on the week preceding the one that the competition begins.

If those rules are to be followed, that would mean Ivory Coast winger Amad, Cameroon forward Mbeumo and Morocco wing-back Mazraoui all leaving before United’s trip to Wolves in the Premier League on Decemb
