WACO, Texas — Baylor University will retain head football coach Dave Aranda following a weeks-long review of the program and its leadership, President Linda A. Livingstone announced Monday in a letter to the Baylor community.

Livingstone said the decision came after “prayerful consideration” and extensive discussions about the future of Baylor athletics. She acknowledged that the move would spark strong reactions but emphasized that the university remains committed to excellence, accountability and competitiveness.

“We are not complacent, and we are not settling for mediocrity,” Livingstone wrote.
