The most recent meeting of Weyburn City Council included a variety of topics that piqued the community's interest and will be followed up on Monday’s regular meeting.

Forward steps for the WLC indoor pool

The evening included a decision made on the future of the Weyburn Leisure Centre indoor pool.

Council was presented the findings of an aquatic feasibility study conducted on the facility, that considered factors like costs, community input, and recreational needs. Four options were presented, and council made a split 4-3 decision.

Communications coordinator Paige Tenbult explains this determined the direction that staff would go when moving forward with plans for the new facility, which will have a 25 metre competitive pool, as well as amenities.
