CHARLOTTE, N.C. — There is a heavy police presence on Central Avenue in east Charlotte.

There are dozens of CMPD officers in vests and brandishing weapons at the Central Pointe Apartments, near North Sharon Amity.

A helicopter was also seen circling the area.

A person appears to be in custody, however, there are no details on the situation or charges so far.
