It’s been nearly seven months since Bradley Gleeson , a correctional officer at Joyceville Institution, took his own life due to what his family and friends allege was extensive harassment on the job.

A correctional officer for 16 years at that point, friends alleged that he was verbally and physically targeted on many occasions in his career, including one instance where feces was placed in his locker.

The news of what Gleeson allegedly went through sparked a powerful reaction among other correctional officers, not only in Kingston but across the country. Similar allegations of bullying and harassment surfaced after the Whig published a story on Gleeson; some wanting to share their stories, others just wanting to provide insight.
