Former Rangers manager Philippe Clement has revealed that he tried to bring Kenny McLean to the club.

A boyhood supporter of the Ibrox side, McLean is the captain of Norwich City, whom Clement was recently appointed as manager of.

The midfielder is currently a national hero after scoring the goal that secured Scotland's place at the 2026 World Cup , and he could've easily come to Rangers, says Clement.

"I know a few [Norwich] players," the Belgian told BBC Norfolk . "In my old club, we were in discussions with a few players who went here.

"I also tried to get Kenny [McLean] to Scotland again, but we didn't achieve that one."
