The University of Colorado Board of Regents remains at an impasse as the censure against Regent Wanda James continues to stand more than four months after it was enacted.
“Unfortunately, there’s no update,” Regent and board chair Callie Rennison said. “Nothing has changed. The censure and sanctions remain the same.”
The Board of Regents decided in July to censure James, formally reprimanding her for reportedly violating her fiduciary responsibilities under regent policy, which requires regents to reasonably act in the best interest of the university. The board determined, based on an independent investigation, that James advocated for defunding a state-funded CU campaign about the risks of high-potency marijuana.
