A Northern California mother who was recently deported after filing a civil lawsuit accusing an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement contractor of sexual harassment is now back in the U.S.
The family of Silvia Reyna Mendoza said she walked back into the U.S. at the San Ysidro port of entry Wednesday morning and remains in ICE custody.
The mother of eight had lived in the U.S. for nearly 40 years and was deported to Mexico despite having received an emergency reprieve by a court, according to her attorneys.
As KCRA previously reported , Mendoza's family filed a lawsuit alleging she was being retaliated against for reporting sexual harassment by an ICE contractor. After our initial story aired, she was deported the following morning.
