Infielder Sung-Mun Song, one of Korea’s best hitters over the past two seasons, will have a chance to pursue an MLB opportunity this offseason.
The Kiwoom Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization are set to make Song available via the posting system on Saturday at 8 a.m. ET. Once he’s posted, Song will have until Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. to reach a deal with an MLB team. If he doesn’t come to an agreement by that deadline, he’ll return to the Heroes for the 2026 season.
Song, 29, made his KBO debut as a teenager back in 2015 but took some time to fully blossom. He played only 226 games for the Heroes from 2015-19 before missing all of ’20 and part of ’21 while fulfilling his military obligation. Song worked his way into an everyday role with the Heroes upon returning but had a sub-.700 OPS in
