SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Edited News Release/KY3) - The Missouri State University community mourns the loss of Dr. Arthur Mallory. He passed away last night, Nov. 20.

In 1964, Mallory became the fifth president of Missouri State. At 31, he was the youngest president to serve the institution.

Mallory, a native of Buffalo, Missouri, and a Missouri State alum, led the institution during a pivotal time in history. The MSU community, as well as colleges across the country, saw students, faculty, and staff demonstrating about civil rights issues, the Vietnam War, and free speech.
