MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) - It Takes a Village Animal Rescue & Resources says it is closing its shelter.
Due to a decline in revenue over the past six months, the animal rescue said it must close its doors and transition back to a fully foster-based rescue.
It Takes a Village said the transition allows the rescue to continue saving animals safely and responsibly while operating within its current financial reality.
The shelter said it is working with the Muscatine Police Department on a plan for animal control impound.
Services like pet adoptions, a donation-based spay-neuter clinic, trap-neuter-return and education initiatives will continue, the shelter said.
