One of the advantages of being a concert band playing in a parade is that you don’t need to go into it with an extensive repertoire.

“It’s nice because you have a revolving audience,” noted Caitlin Clark, who will lead the King’s Town School Band Club in Saturday’s Nighttime Santa Parade.

“It’s not the same people every time, so hopefully you’re up the street far enough that they’re not going to notice it’s the same song.”

The band club, which is comprised of students from grades 6 to 8 (and even a few teachers), will perform a three-song medley and three other seasonal selections as their float makes its way along Princess Street from Bath Road to Springer Market Square.
