An Activa-borne couple was hit by a Thar car driver and his friends near Vishwakunj crossroad in Paldi. Agitated residents and passers-by thrashed the Thar driver and his friends before vandalising the car. The mob also beat up the father of the Thar driver.

As crowds continued to gather, Ellisbridge MLA Amit Shah rushed to the spot and instructed Paldi police to register a case in the matter. Police are now also looking for the person who caused the unrest and vandalised the vehicle.

Mohammad Zaiyan Vora, a Karanj resident and a B.Com student of LJ College, drove his Thar car to Mirzapur to fetch his friend Saad Sheikh on Thursday night. He was on his way to visit another friend, Bilal Mansuri, a resident of Dariyapur, who was getting married.
