A little less than two months after Windsor’s homelessness and addiction recovery treatment (HART) hub opened its doors for the first time, the CEO of one of the lead agencies says it's too early for much data — but indications are that it's helping.
About 45 people have come into the program said Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare CEO Bill Marra, though it's not a linear journey for everyone and a few have left and come back.
So far, the HART hub has brought online 23 new treatment beds spread across locations, and there are plans for more in the near future.
"Early days, I can say the uptake has been good, the response has been good," he said.
"It's a voluntary program and the fact that it's voluntary and that we're filling up our beds is a good early indicator."
