Baylor's Dave Aranda to return next year amid controversy

Baylor is sticking with head football coach Dave Aranda amid a week of disorder inside the athletic department, school president Linda Livingstone announced Friday. The decision comes one day after athletic director Mack Rhoades abruptly resigned, citing personal reasons, leaving the university without a long-term athletic leadership plan.

One of the big reasons why Aranda is keeping his job is because of Rhoades' departure. In a letter to supporters, Livingstone acknowledged the controversy surrounding the move but said it was essential during a turbulent period for Baylor and college sports.
