The NAU Police Department confirmed Friday afternoon that a deceased individual was found behind the Prochnow Auditorium building on the Northern Arizona University campus the prior evening.

According to Deputy Chief Bradley Mihalik, the decedent has been identified as Branden Espinoza, 33, from the Phoenix area. Although a cause of death has not yet been officially determined, Mihalik said the department does not believe there was any violence or criminal act involved.
