NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell has unveiled his third capital spending plan for Music City.
O’Connell’s latest spending plan focuses on maintenance, upgrades and capacity-building in order to “do the little things well.”
The plan has been filed with the Metro Council, and it will be up for initial consideration during the Dec. 4, 2025, meeting.
Below is a breakdown of the spending plan for Nashville:
Metro Nashville Public Schools: $103 million
$28.5 million for a new elementary school in Antioch
$31.5 million for district-wide maintenance
$8 million for McGavock High School renovations
$10 million computer replacements
$8.2 million for high school competition turf fields
$3.2 million for solar/energy saving installs at schools
$2 million for safety
