ORANGE CITY, Fla. – A special meeting called by Mayor Kellie Marks is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday inside City Hall, where officials are expected to publicly address ongoing tensions between the mayor and City Clerk Kaley Burleson.
News 6 obtained a series of emails from Burleson outlining what she describes as a hostile work environment created by the mayor.

In the messages, Burleson accuses Mayor Marks of openly discussing employee performance and retaliating against her for taking paid time off.
In email responses, Marks denies any intent to be offensive, saying her tone may have been misinterpreted. The mayor says the purpose of the meeting is to discuss Burleson’s performance as city clerk and to provide what she calls “transparency and accountability.”
