A landscaping company recently named two Southern California cities as some of the best in the country for pickleball, while one Central Coast town seeks to ban the sport.

Lawn Love, a landscaping company, released its 2026 list of best cities for Pickleball , using metrics including access to pickleball courts, tournaments, size of local player community and local Google search interest, according to a company news release.

The sport has grown in popularity in the U.S., with its growth exceeding 300% over the last three years, according to the company.

Professional organizations such as Major League Pickleball and the Professional Pickleball Association collectively paid out over $30 million in prize money and earnings to professional picklers in 2024, Lawn Love said in a release.
