Nine-year-old Zoie Le'Shun Nash was known for her humor, her compassion, and her willingness to stand up for anyone who needed help. The only girl among six siblings, she loved to dance, play softball, and make others smile.
“Zoe was sweet. She would help anybody,” her mother, Misti Nash, said. “If she saw somebody doing something wrong to somebody, she gonna step in and she gonna help.”
But on November 21, 2016, just three days before Thanksgiving, the Nash family’s life changed forever. Zoie was among six children killed in the Woodmore Elementary school bus crash, a tragedy that sent shockwaves across the nation.
