The community is invited to a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the $61 million Placer Valley Soccer Complex Friday evening in Roseville.

"This is a huge deal," said Kim Summers, Placer Valley Tourism CEO. "Words can't describe how big this is."

Twenty one years ago, the city of Roseville approved a vision for a regional soccer complex. Now, 10 artificial turf fields, all with lights and nearly 1,000 parking spaces are set to be unveiled during a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. at the complex along Westbrook Boulevard.

In addition to the fields and two parking lots, the complex has two separate plazas, public art and an accessible playground.
