New Delhi: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to the district magistrate and the deputy commissioner of police for central Delhi after a Class 10 student “committed suicide” allegedly following sustained mental harassment and discriminatory treatment by teachers at a reputed Delhi school, according to the Commission’s proceedings.

The NHRC has directed that the allegations detailed in the complaint be formally examined and has sought an action-taken report within 10 days.

An FIR under charges of abetment to suicide was registered on Wednesday, a day after the student allegedly jumped from Rajendra Place Metro Station and died.
