Environmental regulators are penalizing an apartment complex for fouling a creek that runs through the southern part of Cobb County.
"It's pretty pleasant here," said resident Andrew Larios, a resident of the Dwell at Seven Fifty complex.
But he says the creek behind the complex is another story. It's called Rottenwood Creek, and Larios says the name is appropriate.
"It smells horrible. It smells like – at first I thought it was sewage," he said Wednesday. "It smells bad."
State regulators say the apartment complex contributed to Rottenwood Creek's issues by spilling 2,700 gallons of what it describes as "unpermitted discharge" into the creek in August. The president of the company that r
