RCMP say they're searching for two men who broke into a business and stole its ATM in a community southeast of Winnipeg early Friday.

Around 4:30 a.m. Friday, RCMP were notified of a break and enter in progress at a business on Lagimodiere Avenue in Lorette, in the rural municipality of Taché, police said in a news release.

The business owner, who was at the scene, told police that two unknown men were trying to remove an ATM from the building.

The men were dressed in all black clothing, wearing balaclavas, and driving a black pickup truck, the business owner said.

The men caused significant damage to the building while removing the ATM, fleeing afterwards.

The owner was not physically harmed in the incident.
