The BJP on Friday claimed that a woman party worker was hospitalised after she was allegedly pushed off the roof of an under-construction building in Raidighi in South 24 Parganas district, allegedly by miscreants backed by the ruling TMC.

The incident occurred over a property dispute, the BJP as well as the police said.

The woman’s identity has not been disclosed, but she is reported to be out of danger.

Superintendent of Police (Sundarban) Koteshwar Rao confirmed that a specific case has been registered and an inquiry has been launched.

“One person has been arrested. An enquiry has been initiated. A specific case has been registered,” Rao said.
