GLENS FALLS — The nice run that Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake’s girls’ volleyball team has had in Glens Falls of reaching the last five NYSPHSAA Class A finals came to an end Friday at Harding Mazzotti Arena .

The Section 2-champion Spartans lost its first match to Williamsville South, 25-10, 25-22. By the time it played three matches later, circumstances were such that it couldn’t afford to be swept. And in that match, after South Side took the first game, 25-21, BH-BL needed to win out the rest of the day.
