CONCORD, N.C. (WBTV) - Concord police on Friday evening responded to a shooting during the annual tree lighting ceremony in downtown Concord.

Police said on Friday, Nov. 21, just before 7:30 p.m., a shooting happened during their annual tree lighting event.

Officials cancelled the event and asked drivers to seek alternate routes.

At the time of this writing, no details have been released on how the shooting may have happened or how many people were injured.
