CORVALLIS — Jenna Villa had a career-high 22 points, but it wasn’t enough for Oregon State women’s basketball to get past Colorado State on Friday night at Gill Coliseum.
The Beavers (4-1) took their first loss of the season, 64-58, to the Rams (5-0). Outside of Villa, no other player scored in double digits for OSU. Leading scorer Tiara Bolden dealt with foul trouble all night and finished with just nine points.
Villa and Kennedie Shuler had five points apiece in the early going, giving OSU a 10-2 lead. That extended to 15-4 as the Beavers whipped the ball around and got out on the break.
Néné Sow left the game with an apparent left leg injury in the first, but after putting a hot/cold device on her calf on the bench, she would return to the contest in the second quarter.
