PORT NECHES, Texas — Port Neches police are investigating after a 68-year-old man was found dead in a Drainage District 7 canal behind his home Friday morning in what authorities believe may have been an accidental drowning.
Around 11:30 a.m., dispatch received a call in reference to a body found in a canal that runs parallel to Saba Lane, according to Police Chief Cheri Griffith. The canal is perpendicular to Twin City Highway.
The deceased was identified as Mike Giblin, 68, of Port Neches, according to Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett, who responded to the scene.
