Righetti athletes sign national letters of intent

Righetti High School seniors Emily Fortin and Maggie Denton signed their national letters of intent on Thursday.

Fortin will attend NCAA Division 2 Cal State San Marcos to play softball.

Last season she finished 14-6 in the circle with a 2.03 ERA and 188 strikeouts. She also batted .292 with one home run and 13 RBIs.

“Emily has had a tremendous impact on our softball program through her hard work and commitment and dedication," said Warriors softball coach Brian Tomooka, (Cal State San Marcos) is not only getting an exceptional student athlete, but someone that can lead and make everyone around her better.”

Denton will attend NCAA Division 2 Cal State Monterey Bay to play soccer,
