ROCHESTER HILLS – Streaks and records are made to be broken, but for those hoping to top West Bloomfield’s Elizabeth Eichbrecht or Ann Arbor Pioneer, it’ll have to wait for another today.
In the case of Eichbrecht, you’ll have to paddle across state lines and catch her as an Indiana Hoosier.
The senior wrapped her career as a Laker as one of the most decorated girls swimmers in the state after becoming a four-time state champ in both the 200 and 500-yard freestyle at Friday’s D1 finals at Oakland University.
“It’s just a symbol of my hard work and how much I’ve put into this sport the past, like, eight years,” Eichbrecht said. “It’s an honor.”
Early in the day, she needed to be faster than Canton’s Allison Schmitt (2007) and her record time
