A major emergency declared at Port of L.A. Friday as 100-plus firefighters battle a massive electrical fire on a 1,100-foot cargo ship with hazardous materials.
An 8 p.m. explosion knocked out power to the ship’s lights and cranes, forcing firefighters to work in darkness deep in the vessel.
