KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Arthur Bryant’s barbecue restaurant closed Monday for emergency water pipe repairs.
The iconic Kansas City barbecue joint posted a closure notice on its front door as repair crews worked throughout the day to fix a busted water pipe that caused flooding inside the restaurant.
“It’s my least favorite thing to do to turn customers away, especially ones that have traveled a long way,” said Taylor Tobin, general manager.
Jimmy Hobson traveled from Joplin and called the closure “a big disappointment.” Morgan and Mark Lopez drove from Colorado on their way to Tennessee, specifically planning to stop at Arthur Bryant’s.
“It was something that we were looking forward to. We made it all the way over here to this particular spot to go try some good barbecue,” Mark Lopez
