After 22 days without playing a game, many thought Lafayette Christian Academy football would be rusty heading into its first LHSAA playoff matchup. They would be wrong.
The Select Division III No. 1 seed Knights proved rust doesn’t exist around their parts as they dominated No. 16 Parkview Baptist from start to finish. With no rust in sight and the offense exploding at the seams, the Knights punched their ticket to the quarterfinals with a 57-10 victory over the Eagles.
“Everybody kind of thought we were gonna be rusty, and all that did was make us want it more,” LCA sophomore running back Caiden Bellard said. “We ain’t played in over two weeks, so we came out here and we had to play our best. We started off a little bad, but we got that off our chest and played the best to our ability.
