Mumbai-based footwear company Metro Brands is stepping into its next phase of growth with the launch of MetroActiv, a new store format focused on athletic footwear and active lifestyle products.

Nissan Joseph, CEO of Metro Brands is confident that this segment can become a strong long-term growth engine as more Indians focus on fitness, sports and healthy living.

Joseph explained that MetroActiv is designed for performance seekers and people who want to stay active at any level. The stores offer curated global brands such as Nike, Adidas, Puma and ASICS, along with limited athletic apparel. Each store will be around 3,000 sq ft and will cater to both men and women.

The company has already opened its first MetroActiv store in Indore and plans further expansion in Dehradun, Jodhpur, Sur
