The Chhattisgarh Education Department has appointed nodal officers to monitor and report stray dogs and cattle found near school premises. New guidelines have been issued to ensure the safety of children from stray animals roaming around schools. Principals and school heads have been instructed to regularly share information about the situation on their campuses so that timely measures can be taken to prevent any harm.

School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav stated that principals and school authorities must stay vigilant about stray dog activity around schools. He also noted that the Supreme Court has previously issued guidelines concerning the protection and management of stray dogs.
