Lincoln High School’s Junior Curtis knows how to turn it on at the right time.
The senior bound for Oregon State broke free for his second 300-yard rushing game in row, leading the top-seeded Hornets to a 49-35 victory over fourth-seeded San Marcos Friday night in the CIF San Diego Section Division 1 semifinals at Lincoln High School.
“It means a lot to me tonight,” said Curtis. “I put my team on my back, I play for them. I couldn’t do it without them.”
The Hornets (10-2) will play No. 2 seed Granite Hills Division 1 final to be held next Friday night at Southwestern College. It will be a rematch of the 2023 Open Division Final when the Eagles edged Lincoln, 27-26.
