The Sting owned a 33-19 shots advantage over the No. 1-ranked team in the Canadian Hockey League, but they trailed 3-0 after one period and 6-1 after two.

The Sting (6-12-3-1) remain tied with the Erie Otters (7-15-1-1) for last place in the Ontario Hockey League’s Western Conference. That tie will be broken Saturday when the teams meet in Erie, Pa.
